3 DVD release of The Who performing Tommy live at Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles in 1989 and Quadrophenia performed live on the US tour 1996-1997. Disc 1 and 2 are the live performances of the albums and disc 3 is the second set from the Tommy show, the encores from the Quadrophenia US tour 1996-1997 and 3 songs recorded at Giants Stadium, New Jersey, 1989.
Whilst the Tommy show was filmed with the express intention of being released, the Quadrophenia show was only filmed for the band's archive. The audio recordings from the Tommy show has previously been released as the 1990 album "Join Together".
Special guests include Billy Idol, PJ Proby, Phil Collins, Elton John, Patti LaBelle and Steve Winwood.

The DVDs origins from different sources. They are in two the different formats. On the Tommy DVD the Extras (Photo Gallery) is not included, and on disc 3 Live Hits the Billy Idol interview is missing.
The DVD order is the way it was released outside the US. The US release has Tommy as Disc 1 and Quadrophenia as disc 2.
