his album sounded very peculiar to me at first. The vocalist has a very strange, almost tuneless, toneless voice, and at first I thought - what a terrible singer. The music, the songs, lyrics and the whole caboodle are so good - but the singer lets it all down, I thought. Why don't they get a decent frontman? But I have to admit that after two or three listens, that seemed less and less noticeable as the songs became more familiar and I realised how good they were and paid attention to the lyrics and melodies. And doggone it - now I must say that I've sort of grown to enjoy the weird, flat vocals and I think I'd miss it if they chucked this guy and got someone else. At least Rest In Silence have a particular, oddly addictive, souind all of their own. And I do really enjoy this strange slice of Goth Metal, even though other people who hear it usually say "Why has that bloke got a peg on his nose?"
