In 1979, when Adam Bomb was 16 years old, he and Geoff Tate started a cover band called Tyrant. Later he joined the band TKO, with whom he recorded the album In Your Face.
California

In 1980, at age 16, Bomb auditioned for Kiss.[1] He flew to Los Angeles and played three songs with them, but was not invited to join the band. Instead, he moved to Hollywood and shared an apartment with Jeffrey Isbelle, better known as Izzy Stradlin. Bomb quickly became friends with Tommy Thayer, a neighbor and guitarist for the rock band Black N' Blue (now guitarist in KISS), who suggested Adam should do his own project and call it Adam Bomb. Tommy Thayer's band "Movie Star" opened for TKO at The Showbox in 1981. In 1983, Adam recorded his first demos with producer Rick Keefer.[1] He also played two gigs with Steeler as a replacement for Yngwie Malmsteen. One year later, Adam recorded more songs with the aid of drummer Chuck Ruff of Montrose and bassist Cliff Williams of AC/DC and finalized his first album, Fatal Attraction.[1]

I'm giving this a 4. to me, the only reason I can't score a 5 for this band's songs at the moment is that the screamo vocals are not up to the league of the clean. This band will no doubt score some airplay but it's mainly the clean vocals setting it aside from other bands. This guy's voice is really strong, and does really interesting harmonies. The music is very good. Great job, don't take what I said about the screamo too harshly.

On July 3, Cleopatra Records will release the fifth studio record from Pittsburgh, PA-based melodic metallers Icarus Witch. RISE is an epic twelve-track display of songwriting and musicianship from one of the most-watched heavy music bands of the decade.

From the driving, anthemic “(We Are) The New Revolution” to its equally commanding following track “Rise,” Icarus Witch demonstrates impeccable harmonies, head-spinning dual guitar work, and hammering rhythm. Lyrically, the band is digging deep into themes of control (loss of, and taking it back), empowerment (within and without), and faith (and keeping it).

From a glance at their picture, this band seems to be too young to have a sound with the feeling of late Seventies and early Eighties hard rock. But this small five song EP finds Future Shock channeling some entertaining classic rock.

Fortunately, Future Shock has the chops, the musicianship, to develop this sound in a fresh way, avoiding, would could be, the possibility of cliche or homage. Future Shock gets to root of hard rock: big riffs, strong sense of melody, nice hooks and, notably, a strong groove.
