Bread & Circus hailed from Trondheim formed in 1989 and was a continuation of Romance, which consisted of Hans Hopen (vocals), Espen Isachsen (guitar), Frank Aune (bass), Christian Nystrom (keyboards) and Lars Almaas (drums).
Romance already had a record deal with Grappa and with Rolf Graf as producer they released the single “Angel / Tonight’s The Night”. In the aftermath of this release stopped Hans Hopen and Espen Isachsen and was replaced by Baard G. Olsen
