Power metal would not exist if it wasn’t for the beautiful touch of the keyboard and a band who definitely embraces this instrument into their line-up are the amazing Leeds based symphonic power metal band Dreamcatcher. Concentrating their sound around computer generated noises, these power metal prodigies have released one of the finest debut power metal albums, and the best bit is that they are British. Dreamcatcher are flying the flag nice and high for British heavy metal, and their astounding debut album Soul Design is a must have in any power metal fanatics collection. For me, there are two types of great guitarists. Those I would classify in the category of technicians. Real pros of the six strings (or 12 ...) that have a technical unstoppable. And then there are very large, you know, those who flirt with genius. And Cyril is LEPIZZERA thereof. The difference? The first play masterfully, but the compositions are often displays of pure technique. Do you remember "the man who plays faster than his shadow"? The latter have the same qualities guitaristic but they put their technology for a brilliant inspiration.
The sound is powerful, clear and always emotionally charged. Like what the guitar heroes are not just demonstrations which, apart from their pedagogical virtues quite razors, if I may ... Cyril LEPIZZERA offers us an enchanting journey through the maze of his inspiration, always bright, despite a title of album that would not disgrace a CD of Death Metal ... No, the metal of the Marseille artist is pure, bright and straight as a blade.
IN THIS MOMENT began work on the new album just a few months following the departures of drummer Jeff Fabb and guitarist Blake Bunzel, who left the band late last year in order to join the backing group of "American Idol" finalist James Durbin. Fabb and Bunzel have since been replaced by Tom Hane (THYATEIRA) and Randy Weitzel(FLATLINE, 3/13, AMERICAN MASSACRE), respectively.
Commented singer Maria Brink: "There are no words to describe how excited we are... We are on fire with this record. It's by far the most powerful material we have ever written.

RAMPART has finished the recording sessions of their new project 'War Behest'. The album is being mixed and will be released by the French label Inferno Records in 2012. 'War Behest' is a metal opera!!! This conceptual piece of music consists of 10 compositions and presents an anti-utopia of war as clash of interest. In the real nature of conflict there are no losers and winners. The opposition is a result of our free will. This is a story about the restrictions of man and the decisions he could take on his way to perfection. The libretto will be published in the booklet of the release and its poetic expression is in the lyrics of the album.'War Behest' cover artwork is created by the talented Bulgarian artist Dimitar Nikolov (KEEP IT TRUE, ROSS THE BOSS, SENTINEL BEAST, STEELWING and many more).
Hailing from Boston, MA, Constants is a self-described “shoe-gaze/post-rock” band that made an early name for themselves with a kind of wall-of-sound brand of late ’90s Brit rock. After a few albums, they decided to tweak their brand away from a metal and heavy rock orientation to focus on a more “vibrant and textural sound,” as their press release indicates. Their new album,Pasiflora, was born from this switch, and it’s a mess of reverb and guitar wash that sounds like one long track.

Sitting in the Hard Rock Cafe in Warsaw, just hours before our CD Release Show, it is hard to believe that it has come this far. 2 years of ideas, 9 months of hard work and finally here it is. 7 Billion and a Nameless Somebody. This journey, this musical evolution has been an incredible experience for the 4 of us and we are thankful for it. We sincerely hope for your continued support because we cannot go on without it.
A glimpse at the enviable discography of prolific German psychedelonautDave “Sula Bassana” Schmidt will result in a lifetime’s worth of albums, live releases and jamming lysergic sprawl. Both on his own under the Sula Bassana moniker and with bands like Liquid Visions, Südstern 44, Zone Six and most recently Electric Moon, Schmidt has overseen the creation of an entire scene’s worth of output, sustaining leads carving out a niche almost entirely his own within European heavy psych rock. His latest solo outing to be released through his own Sulatron Records is called Dark Days, and on it, Schmidt plays guitar, bass, drums, synth, organ, performs what little vocals there are and, on all but two of the tracks which feature live drumming (by Pablo Carneval, also formerly of Electric Moon), he programs the drum machine. 22-year-old Norwegian seven-string guitarist/singer/songwriter The Commander-In-Chief will release her debut EP, "Evolution", digitally on February 15 via Commander Records/The Commander-In-Chief Ltd.The effort was produced by Sterling Winfield (PANTERA, HATEBREED,HELLYEAH), who previously mixed The Commander-In-Chiefs' "brutal, adrenalin-fueled" cover version of the BLACK SABBATH classic"Paranoid" (audio stream avialable in YouTube clip below).
According to a press release, "the recording process of the EP was very different from what normally happens in studio these days, so Sterling Winfield made a statement about it.
