9xDead is a veteran self-proclaimed “dark rock” act from South Wales in the UK – the name confirms it. Musically 9xDead is a mix of traditional hard rock and heavy metal with some Gothic metal elements added to spice things up, and their latest releaseCursed is a good one.
Pain (the emotional kind) is a central theme of their music, whether the pain of loneliness, nightmares, fears, death or sadness. The music is as dark as the lyrics, with heavy bass grinding guitars and intense riffs giving Cursed an almost steam-punk or Gothic feel without borrowing too much from those genres. Influences of old-school metal acts abound, but they are only influences – 9xDead has taken these and made them their own. The hints of punk and Gothic metal only add to the moodiness of the release, which somehow manages to stay melodic throughout.

Detonated out of their home town of Luton, this fresh faced quintet blend the dramatic flair of early Funeral For A Friend with the soaring pop nouse of Young Guns and My Chemical Romance. For every foot stamping chorus there is a majestic riff… for every infectious groove there is a lifting melody. Like Jimmy Eat World mashed into Thrice, this is intelligent, passionate music.
Formed in 2009, the band have already made their mark on the increasingly bright and exciting UK scene, having headlined the BBC Introducing Stage at this year’s Love Luton Festival, played shows with Enter Shikari, We are The Ocean, Young Guns, Deaf Havana, Don Broco, My Passion (and more) and been the first band EVER to play live on a BBC Introducing show.
A passion that started as early as he can remember.
As a teen living in Communism it was hard already being who u’d want to be so he became content with living the dream in his room with 100s of posters of his idols.
Andrzej's music is inspired from the hardships that he had to go through, the death of his beloved father ( a simple miner but a great man) and the world’s greatest musicians and 80's bands... Reached me this CD after hearing the single which is a video, named after the album Instinto Animal.
The first thing I noticed was the voice. It was known for my ring. One way of singing that once liked me.
Thus pay attention to the work of Iñaky Averno. For those who know not from whom we are speaking, it is the ex-vocalist of Eternity, which for the Far beyond 2002, with the hands released their first album called "Entre el Bien y el Mal" I tell you, that was an album that I liked and once Iñaky left the band, and I lost track until today.
He has a voice with a timbre very characteristic and very personal voice modulation in which even must include digital modulation for years, as an added feature. This facet with his powers of expression, and today I made him ratify it, a singer with something to say and to interpret its own stamp. But this disk that concerns us, Instinto Animal, although it seems to be focused on becoming a band, it is Iñaky with a series of collaborations, the most important and remarkable of which is that ofPedro J. Monge.

Regarding from Melodicrock.com: Musicians Will Champlin andMiles Schon recently joined forces in a new band they are calling Miles of Will. The duo's debut EP is out now and available via Facebook.com/milesofwill. Digital Downloads will be made available shortly. Here is a little background info on the pair, as reported in Marin Independent Journal (San Rafael, CA), interview by Paul Liberatore.
"They have mixed emotions about being the sons of rock stars. "We've got a little bit of a push because of that, which is great," said Champlin, whose dad, singer-songwriter Bill Champlin, is a former member of Chicago and a founder of the legendary Marin band the Sons of Champlin. But, as a 28-year-old lead singer and keyboard player, just like his dad, being his father's son can also be a source of considerable insecurity. "It can be pretty overwhelming sometimes," he admitted. "You want to pretend like you're not, and then you think, 'But would people still like me?'"
Disclosure is The Gathering’s most personal soundscape they’ve ever made. A great marriage between electronic and organic sounds and colourfull and diverse songs. It’s simply impossible to describe this new album in a few words. Keyboard player Frank says: “It’s for sure our most personal album we ever made, lyrically but also musically”.
“We tried a lot of new things, like harmony singing” he says. “ We stayed close to ourselves, working on long epic songs, which we love to work on knowing it is one of our strongest points. We took all the time to cristalize all ideas, not forgetting to experiment. We are incredibly proud of this album!”.
8BHK started out as a mere solo project of Chadd Adam’s born from years of tiresome playing in the quickly stale growing music scene. He desired something different, melding the very best of his favorite genres and infusing a subtle nerd quality into the foundation of the project.

Kissin‘ Black are acoustic and raw. Sometimes fast and hard-nosed, at times slow-going but always catchy!
Driven by grayest Swiss skies and southern charm; four figures who need the black to find the colours, they want to experience the loss to savour the rising. A fascinating and relaxing rock-bath between melancholia and aspiration. Kissin‘ Black provides the perfect soundtrack for calm moments. Love, affection, light and above all music. With those atmoshperes the band from Lucerne enriches their sound in the midst of mist and mountains. With some fragile words, a glass of red wine and a bottle of fuel.
