Northern New Jersey's TRIXTER's self-titled debut album (1990) spawned three monster hit singles/videos with 'Give It To Me Good', 'One in a Million' and 'Surrender', as well as a certified Gold album.
Trixter will release 'New Audio Machine', their first new album in 20 years, on April 20th in Europe and April 24th in North America.
Featuring the band's original line-up, 'New Audio Machine' is produced and engineered by Chuck Alzakian (Elton John, Tesla) and includes songwriting contributions by Skid Row's Snake Sabo and Rachel Bolan and former Styx member Glen Burtnik.
The album's first single, "Tattoos & Misery" is now available as advance.
It's a hooky rockin' track with killer guitar work, much in the vein of their debut material.
The boys are back, and playing the music the fans want to listen.

At Saarbruecken I've recently very little thought, but to flares. The post-rockers are clear from this city and have imagined three years ago with an EP, which was recently once again revolved in my player. Nice surprise, then, their brand new EP to have before me, with "EP" is an understatement pretty. But they would not be the first book that describes a publication with more modest length album.
Anyway, the flares are still faithful to have a hand in the last three years, but alsoexperienced a noticeable development. The most striking change, which can be observed for some time with several other post-rockers, is the realization that youprobably sometimes not everything can be expressed only with instruments. Meaning:When flares are singing it now. Not every song, but still. They are a bit away from their only creed to let the music speak simply happen. What takes the band on her pregnant with meaning "Kingdom Come" album titled works, structured and arranged very closely, but with the same dedication that has also been awarded the debut work.
Emphasizes instrumental music, multi-layered and cinematic, and one hears that the fivepieces were designed for a visual experience. People, instruments, lights ... and itsounds floating, melancholy collides with levity and joy warms the whole room.Characteristic is the length of the five mini-epics, is the amazing sense of time. Perhapswhy they call it EP, because with "Kingdom Come" seems to fly the time. For flares that can mean only good things, because if a band its attractive effect so quickly unfolds that promises a more than pleasant long-term effect. My recommendation!

Adam "Nergal" Darski of Polish extreme metal veterans BEHEMOTH has recorded a guest appearance on the new album from Polish guitaristGrzegorz Skawinski. Entitled "Me & My Guitar", the CD will be released on March 12.
Commented Darski: "Style-wise, it's very far from what I do inBEHEMOTH… but I know Grzegorz for years… The guy is a guitar hero in my country and I couldn't turn down his offer when he asked me to play a lead in the title track. It came out great, and I'm sure many of you out there will dig it… it's a very crafty and catchy stuff."
Skawinski is a guitar virtuoso, famous in Eastern Europe as a former member of KOMBI, a Polish supergroup.

Ashes of Iron. A record review that felt inspired from the outset. This English band formed, or should I say were FORGED, back in the fateful year of 2008. Since then they can boast supporting the likes of Brandt Bjork and the Bros and Viking Skull. This self titled record was released just days ago and fuckin' wait til you hear this beast of an album!
Lo-fi sounds evocative of Neu! introduce opening track 'That Fucking Look in Your Eye', but quickly implode like a dying star that for some reason sounds like Wooly Mammoth. The chorus is an unexpected departure from the vibe of the verse, bringing out a very welcome grunge feel. And onto 'Sanefull', which is all straight up hard rock goodness. Earthy, overdriven guitars in harmony and open hi hats that bring the best of Corrosion of Conformity to mind: lovely jubly! And with no messing about we go headlong into the sinister 'Martyr'. Dissonant, old-skool metal riffing trundles along like a steam train with a drunken driver.
It's clear after the first three tracks that this is nicely angy music, the kind of atmosphere that any given punk rock band wishes they could evoke but Ashes of Iron do it at a moment's notice.
'Pharmacopoeia' is a slow build up of weaving fuzzy guitars and grunting bass before ending up in a Queens of the Stone Age style groove. The vocals maintain a high timbre, bringing to mind 'Rocks' era Aerosmith at its best. 'Rivals' begins with a nicely unpredictable riffing pattern and settles down into an alt-metal swing. A very American tasting rock song, whatever that means... 'Fresh Ears' is a full on QOTSA style head mover, and features the most twisted and aggressive vocal performance on here so far.
Ashes have more than shown us that they know how to put two guitars to great use, this has to be one of the most interesting riffathon records I've heard lately. 'Therapist' continues that trend with some later Sabbath style dirty hard rock riffing, all in a bruising package of just two and a half minutes. 'Gone in the Stun' takes the record in a slightly different, more contemplative than we've heard up to this point. No less pregnant with heavy guitars though, which themselves are taken to experimental places as the track reaches its climax. 'The Beast' displays a slightly doomier side to Ashes; mid-tempo steady grooves and low guitars. And it's all over in a few sleeting moments and straight into 'Three Daze' which sees the band back in an angry and impatient mood. A great example of how the band like to construct a song, certainly a stand out on the record. We wrap up our time with Ashes of Iron with 'Nails and the Truth'. Another stand out right from the start that sees the band once again in a stoner/doom frame of mind. The only track that can be described as lengthy makes an excellent closer for this superb album.
Ashes of Iron have produced a solid bit of work here, quality from all instruments and every aspect of the production, it's hard to fault. My only wish would be to hear the band branch out a little more, there's a lot of raw talent floating around that could be harnessed into something incredible. No doubt the band will continue to give us more of the good stuff as time goes on. Cheers to Ashes of Iron!

Passion. It’s said that one can’t be truly creative without it. Surprising how many bands fall short when putting that equation together. In the fickle world of music, there is something to be said about a group that doesn’t kow-tow to cookie-cutter trends or cigar-chomping suits looking for the next pop flavour of the month. So if fate chooses to smile the gleaming white grin of prosperity on Canada’s One Soul Thrust then let the justice be done. Their style- modern yet classic rock-influenced- lends itself to success without compromise. From pure rock to soulful blues, it’s all rock and it’s all executed with precision, experience & creativity… but it starts with passion.
One Soul Thrust- 1ST for short- puts their passion where their mouth is. And out of that mouth comes the group’s signature sound via lead vocalist/songwriter, Salem Jones. Put Heart’s Ann Wilson and Queensryche’s Geoff Tate in a blender. Ignore all except the tastiest of screams. Mix. Pour. Now throw on their first opus, “1ST” released in June 2010. Wielding presence and mystique with an understated but confident sexuality, Salem is the full meal deal of rock singers. Add drummer Todd Pretty’s pounding hypno-grooves, guitarist Jag Mollerup’s thoughtfully aggressive chords, bassist Anna Portalupi's sizzling attack and you have the core members of what one US journalist called “one of Canada’s best kept secrets”.
