Saratoga – Nemesis (2012)
Aug 5, 2012 11:31
Heavy Metal |Power Metal
New release of Saratoga, which will not count as yet another, but as the third of the new training.
On a first listen, the disc is not easy, does not enter the first and leaves you feeling disappointed first. I must say, GREAT previous work of the band, I have become bored with many listeners. I think this is a bit otherwise. The guitar master Tony Hernando, have a multitude of shades and colors that are probably not of easy listening, but for lovers of art and the more elaborate compositions may shelling delight your ears for long.
The voice of Tete Novoa, is a reference already in this country, when adjectives seek other vocalists. Having already demonstrated its scope in terms of octaves and multiple records in this record, you note loose, not wanting to prove anything anymore, and therefore more comfortable. He has done an excellent job with the voices, without abusing acute, but of course, not without them.
Niko del Hierro, referring to the band, gives credit for demonstrating sound was voted best bassist in the country at different times, a title the other hand, is difficult to maintain given the a level that Spanish musicians have today: Sublime.

Pandoras Ball – Full Size Nothing (2012)
Aug 3, 2012 17:10
Progressive Rock
PANDORA'S BALL bear bitter drawings in the booklet of "Full Size Nothing" together: children who push their guns in their mouths, and scribbled sayings like: "Without a reason to complain, Kurt Cobain did just that in vain? If there is nothing to defend, why do not we break what we can not bend? "Pithy words and pictures ... How may fail because the music? The quartet comes from the Freiburg area and ventures hereby to a demo and an EP a first long-distance running, which was produced during the past two years. The issue of timeliness is irrelevant, because the band heard on the amount of time is:-edged alternative rock and, in the broadest sense is the order, which - in order to answer the initial question - a grim but not hopeless mood prevails.
Daniele Liverani – Eleven Mysteries (2012)
Aug 3, 2012 15:09
Progressive Rock
You might know Daniele Liverani best in his role as a keyboard player in many metal acts including Khymera, Genius the Rock Opera, Twin Spirits or Cosmics. But did you know he was an accomplished guitar player. I'm suspecting you did. He's been playing guitar from an early age. With his new solo album, Eleven Mysteries, Liverani picks up his axe once again. As you would suspect, Eleven Mysteries contains 11 songs where Liverani demonstrates his exceptional skills. Also, as you would likely surmise, he follows in the neo-classical guitar tradition. Expect some sizzling shredding throughout this disc, and you'll find it bunches. But it's not always that way, ripping up the fret board that is. A songs such as Supreme Gladness and All Is Pure find Liverani offering some smooth, often soothing licks, over pyrotechnics.

Hamunaptra – Llévate Mi Alma (2012)
Aug 2, 2012 20:08
Heavy Metal |Power Metal
"Take My Soul" is presented as the evolution of heavy metal from Alicante Hamunaptra, a band and their debut album left us relatively recently and are willing to take root in the national scene, with a second much more dramatic effect successful than the first, although there is still a long way to go.
Before getting to the content that is after all what we are interested in a review, I want to comment as a curiosity that the CD on the back incorporates a QR code (such as fashionable in recent days), to through which we can access their official facebook and follow the record with their respective letters, all new to this that I wrote (perhaps some see it as normal ...).

CYRIL LEPIZZERA – Servatis A Maleficum 2007

NOW!
For me, there are two types of great guitarists. Those I would classify in the category of technicians. Real pros of the six strings (or 12 ...) that have a technical unstoppable. And then there are very large, you know, those who flirt with genius. And Cyril is LEPIZZERA thereof. The difference? The first play masterfully, but the compositions are often displays of pure technique. Do you remember "the man who plays faster than his shadow"? The latter have the same qualities guitaristic but they put their technology for a brilliant inspiration.
The sound is powerful, clear and always emotionally charged. Like what the guitar heroes are not just demonstrations which, apart from their pedagogical virtues quite razors, if I may ... Cyril LEPIZZERA offers us an enchanting journey through the maze of his inspiration, always bright, despite a title of album that would not disgrace a CD of Death Metal ... No, the metal of the Marseille artist is pure, bright and straight as a blade.
