"Second" stylistic brothers Man are Dire Straits and Gentle Giant. In general, more interesting than the first, but the musicians did not reach the "Giant". Art rock with elements of folk, blues, psychedelia, which they performed, was revered in Britain, the USA and Australia.
In continental Europe, they were treated with more restraint, sometimes accused of profanation of the "purity" of the genre. The level of complexity and depth of compositions is about the level of average Jethro Tull albums (1971, 1974, 1979) and early Fairport Convention. That is, this is a solid and strong brigade from the intellectual rock league. As happens 9 times out of 10 with bands from the era of rock music, the best Man albums were released in the first half of the 70s.
