KIM SIXX, from Aarhus, Denmark, was one of the most remarkable female fronted Heavy Metal underground acts from the ’80s. Unfortunately the band’s career was cut short because the singer / frontwoman Kim ‘Power Baby’ Sixx (real name Lone Kim Jensen) suffered a deadly accident.

KIM SIXX performed in various countries and festivals between 1984 -1985, only releasing an extremely sought after vinyl 7” single (“Warrior / Bang Your Head”), and a couple of cassettes / well recorded demos.
While there’s some bootlegs floating the net, it was about time for the music of cult band KIM SIXX to be officially released on CD after all those years. Thanks to Sonic Age Records whom get in touch with the co-founder and guitar player of the band – Hans D. Olsen – now KIM SIXX music out via Sonic Age Records ‘Cult Metal Classics‘ series.

Titled “Sixx Are The Metal Five (40th Anniversary Edition)“, the CD includes all the band’s recordings, mostly demos but professionally taped and with fine sound quality. The disc was published at the end of past year, actually on sale 2024.
Musically, KIM SIXX were first half of the ’80s European melodic metal blended with hard rock, with a sound mixing the Scandinavian and German styles from the era.
We never heard about KIM SIXX before, and “Sixx Are The Metal Five (40th Anniversary Edition)” is a really nice, cool discovery of band with enormous potential.
Highly Recommended
