This album is one of the forgotten treasures of the 1980's, produced by Don Was. The album was only released on vinyl and has never been reissued.
Though primarily a Funk & Soul album, the individual tracks are very varied and the whole album is a very good example of what David Lasley is capable of. Especially the track "Euripides Meets The Shangri-Las (Something About Boots + Birds)" is very unusual for a music album, as it is in fact a spoken poem with a choir of spoken voices. The rhythm of the performance is incredible and even more impressive is the fact that the track was recorded on board a train going from Los Angeles to New York.
