...from Basel (Switzerland) are cellist Beat Schneider and drummer/singer Fran Lorkovic who have known each other from the classical music-scene long ago where they've worked together in numerous projects. In may 2010 they decide to do their own thing and celebrate their passion for hard-edged rock'n'roll. In this unconventional line-up they start building a catalog of songs that kick ass and yet sound a little different.
The band plays its first hailed gig at the local 8-Bar in November. Driven by enthusiastic reactions they go on by recording their first 4-track-EP, entitled "Take A Bow", in January at Basel's Megapeng-Studio, produced by Dave Muscheidt. In june 2010 it gets released in self-distribution. In June 2011 they shoot their first video-clip of the song "Revolution Baby"
In january 2012 they start pre-producing their first full-length-album, in june they record it with Deezl Imhof at Foolpark Studios in Lucerne and by december the record is finally mixed and mastered by "Gurd"s V.O. Pulver at Little Creek Studios in Gelterkinden. The self-titled album is due to be out and released by "Czar Of Crickets" on 6th of may 2013. A video-clip of the song "Rock It Down" was shot in mid-March 2013, it's due to be out with the album-release.
Zlang Zlut have ever since constantly continued to play live in the region of their homebase, but are planning to tour more of Switzerland and Germany on the back of the release of "Zlang Zlut".
Fran Lorkovic has been the singer of the legendary AC/DC-tribute band "Bon's Angels". Aside of that he played drums in major-label-bands "Erotic Jesus" and "Undergod" who released four albums and toured with them all over Europe, among others as opener for bands like "Porno For Pyros", Ice-T's "Bodycount", "Voivod" or "Zeromancer". Lorkovic works also as a classical percussionist in orchestras and ensembles for contemporary music.
Beat Schneider was a founding member of the Bernese Cult-band "Caduta Massi" (with Endo Anaconda from Stiller Has), played on Stephan Eicher's "Backstage"-Tour in 1997, and toured worldwide with the Camerata-Bern-Ensemble. Schneider has been called "the Hendrix of the cello" in the press. In the 90's he toured Europe with the "International Chaos Quintet" and for the last decade he has been a constant member of the "Ensemble Phoenix", Basel's finest ensemble for contemporary music.
