Witnere is a British heavy metal band formed in 2015 by Jase Tyler and Dec Doyle, whose lyrical themes focus on history and mythology. The band recorded their first concept album The Doom of Almand in 2018, telling of Saxon legends.
The second album from Northern England-based band Witnere is another eight track offering of Dark Age Metal. Once again dealing with the history of Britain, this album chronicles the tumult following the leaving of the Romans and the emergence of the legendary figures Arthur and Merlin.
The sorcerer's prophecies tell of a warrior king who will push back the heathen Saxon hordes and bring peace to Britannia, but the raiders from beyond the sea will not give up their prize so easily...
