Wendy Anne-Marie Stapleton is an Australian pop/rock singer-songwriter, and musical theatre and television actress. In August 1980 Stapleton formed pub rock band, Wendy & the Rocketts. They signed with Mushroom Records and released the singles “Reputation” in June 1981, which peaked at No. 40 and “Tonite” followed in September but did not chart.
After few line-up changes they released their third single, “You’re Place or Mine?” reached the top 40. The band travelled to UK in early 1983 to record their debut studio album, “Dazed for Days” while they tour as support for Bryan Adams and ZZ Top. Few line-up changes took part before the end of the band in 1985. A very good album with nice pop keyboard, memorable melodies and modish vocals. In the vein of Teri DeSario, Sandy Stewart, Sharon O’Neill and Headpins.
