Vick Lecar used to be the guitar player in a band called Platinum, so I am told, which I must apologize to you the reader, I have to plead total ignorance to knowing anything about. Now that we have gotten my ignorant pleadings out of the way, I can tell you a thing or two about the bloke who sings on the record, some guy by the name of Joe Lynn Turner. Jesus, is this guy all over the place or what?? Joe's wigs may not be improving with time but his voice is as good as ever and he is the current voice in demand dethroning JSS and Glennardo Hughes.
The down side to this whole shabang is that this is a four track ep, so we are teased a bit and then the plug is pulled. Maybe a full lenght cd is to follow, but for now this will have to do. If you are a collector of all things JLT then this is a must for your collection as it does feature some good tracks, in particular "Never Stranded" which is an excellent rocker that for some odd reason reminds me of Procal Harem when Robin Trower was in the band. "Turn & Burn" is a more laid back tune, with some fine bluesy vocals from Joe Lynn. "Run Like A River" and "One More Shot" are pretty decent tunes albeit not great, and unfortunately that is it. So if you have a long laundry list of wants on your current list, I would suggest putting this toward the bottom, but if you are a huge fan of the man, then it becomes a must for your collection.
