VOICES OF ROCK II delivers a shimmering production —plenty of heavy bass grooves, big drums, tight guitars, crisp synth work and clean, clear vocals across the board.
You get classic, enjoyable arrangements, particularly on tracks like “Shame on You,” “Lay you Down to Rest” with Mitch Malloy, and “Tonight” by the incomparable Joe Lynn Turner.
As a song, “Into the Night” is not the strongest of the bunch, but vocalist Tony Martin sounds as great now as he did decades ago, and gives you a reason to listen to this track over and over.
Each song has its own charm – Paul Shortino makes the anthem ‘Rock Me’ pretty unique with his raspy voice – all are very well arranged and produced, rocking tunes featuring the finest vocalists from the melodic hard scene.
