Since he left left Rainbow in 1977, one of the more interesting side projects of keyboardist / vocalist TONY CAREY has been the PLANET P PROJECT, a vehicle for some of his more progressive stuff yet quite commercial as well, even with some videos from the first two albums (1983-84) receiving moderate airplay on MTV when originally released.

Tony took up the project again during the 2000’s with the trilogy Go Out Dancing, and in 2013 released this new effort entitled “Steeltown”.
As the album went out of print and Tony Carey thought it needed an update, now we have ”Steeltown (Remixed & Remastered 2024)”, where Carey did a remastering and added some layers of sound to finally remix the whole piece of work. A new artwork is also featured.

“Steeltown” mixes Carey’s AORish melodies known from his solo albums with the light melodious proggy atmospheres of the last Planet P works. Of course, there’s a lot of keyboards, synths, pianos on this album where Carey handles most of the instruments. TNT guitarist Ronni Le Tekro has recorded on some tracks.
Highly Recommended
