«The Land Of New Hope» was the result of many years of conversations between Timo Tolkki and president of Frontiers Records Serafino Perugino. Perugino, being a long time fan of Stratovarius, offered to return to the original sound of the band in a more "symphonic" key. The album Tolkki started in August 2012.

In the process of making this album, I kind of reinvented himself. I first wrote the story, and then began to compose music. My aim was writing catchy songs with good melodies, which could support the plot.

In the 90s, in Stratovarius I was one of the founders of the genre of power metal, so it is natural that people may associate this style of music with me ... but on this album you will find a lot of dynamics, including songs with the orchestra, which sound very much, very seriously.

«The Land Of New Hope» - this is only one part of the story, and its completion. All history is longer, and sends the time not covered by the concept of the album, so probably it will be followed two more metal-opera, which form a trilogy.

In general, at this stage of my career, I realized that the concept of metal-opera for me is logical and fascinating. I love classical music, and, just like in the classic opera, a metal opera, so it is possible to create stories and to go beyond musical borders.

It's not easy to keep vigor after a 25 year career, but this album - something really special!
