"They play with death as with other cards ..." The Slaughters

There was a time when I wondered if the French metal scene would finally explode in the face of the world! I think in France we will have to wait a long time! I will not deny that cares a little too much the balls! Yet! Yet in our country there is talent! Many talents just waiting to be known and recognized! Since the time I listen to metal bands French I think it's time to put the record straight. Yes, in France we have a good big sound to our ears of metalheads! This is not Metal Zone that say otherwise ...

Here is The Slaughters with his first album (released in late May 2012 at Brennus) and ammunition to make a more pale! Undoubtedly my first impression is that these musicians are probably fans of Iron Maiden. I immediately loved "The Avenger!" This song made me think about what could happen in the Iron Maiden album "The Number Of The Beast." Well, do not exaggerate The Slaughters is not a clone of Iron Maiden! Far from it. This group influences like many others and yet it stands out with its very compositions provided. I note that there are five songs over 7 minutes: bravura with its moments of rupture and calm. It's funny with The Slaughters I feel transported in both the spirit of '80s metal and now that. It is a compromise in both modern and more traditional metal. A very nice wedding. It is obvious that you work hard in this group and we are trying to produce catchy compositions. I feel in The Slaughters a strong sense of musical and investment that throughout this album. The music is clean, sought, we put the heart to work and each piece has its spot surprises. And listening to "The Legacy" can already feel the desire to offer an alternation between good riff that sends heavy research and chorus concert will fly. I think that side of The Slaughters must be able to be heard on stage. I do not know why "War Chant" reminds me of Metallica from the beginning of the song - perhaps the acoustic guitar at the beginning - but hey, it does not touch me as a result of the song is very incisive and pick you up by powerful riff. Again I say that the guitar sound is excellent just the arrival of the heavy cavalry. A treat. What is the strength of this group is the intelligent use and well distributed all instruments. The guitars are clear (very important to me a good guitar sound) - Solos riffs and very clean. The bass is also present and takes its role to great effect (small break in "War Chant" elsewhere. If the battery for me is perfect (the intro to "The Last Stand") will not stay on your hunger I guarantee you. A good singer is one of the most important things in a group: The Slaughters has just a great singer. A voice neither too severe nor too sharp, a perfect compromise for a metal band. Good voice in a group that is already huge plus vocal technique which seems rather convincing we will not complain. Such is the case for The Slaughters and emotions are great.

To conclude listening to this album is a great surprise. Songs like "The Last Stand" or "Do not Leave Me" have enormous potential and will not let you ice. While others may find that the influence is Iron Maiden has it not spoil one second listening pleasure. "The Hunger" confirms an ambitious desire to have fun with her little intro heavy acceleration and significance - The blood brothers set off and nothing will stand in their way!

Yes, this album has everything to appeal to fans of heavy metal a tad nostalgic 80s. I am confused no doubt ... The Slaughters is a modern group that knows how to combine our memories of old metalheads to something more contemporary perfectly in tune with the times. This makes this album a success, I invite you to discover very quickly.
