«The Runaways» - the first rock 'n' roll team, consisting of some girls. And although she did not last long, but it has given impetus to the emergence of a large number of female rock bands. In the mid-70s the idea of ​​such a project already was in the air, but it was embodied in life, when gathered together producer Kim Fowley, Sandy West (drums, vocals), Joan Jett (guitar, vocals) and lyricist Kari Krome. The first current composition also included bass guitarist Mickey Steele, and his first concerts of "fugitive" was performed in a trio format. In this configuration, the first trial, issued subsequently called «Born To Be Bad» were recorded.
