Even though the “dangerous gentlemen” in BOMBAY BLACK have just released their new studio album – ¡En Fuego! – a few weeks ago, the guys have been hard at work on a new band they started right before Covid put life on hold.

Looking for a different vibe for THE RESISTANCE, they started writing with a couple of longtime friends in vocalist Phil Houston, who brings his gritty and powerful voice to the party, and guitarist Luke Williams, whose six-string stylings give to THE RESISTANCE hard rock sound a refreshing blast of 1970’s rock n’ roll blues.
Inspired equally by rock music spanning several decades, THE RESISTANCE wears those influences proudly from the funky hard rock of ‘Last Kiss’ to some songs with a metal crunch like ‘Think You Know Better’, others very melodic & catchy (second track ”Pop Rocks”) not forgetting ballads, like the emotional ‘Push You Away’.
Produced by none other than the band’s requested bassist Ty Sims (Bombay Black, Tango Down, Talon), THE RESISTANCE’s self-titled album comes blasting out of the speakers from the moment you push play.
This CD version released by Kivel Records features a bonus track, a cover of Slash’s Snakepit (Ryan Roxie penned) tune ‘Been There Lately’, a hot version captured live.
