The Rack Doll released its first two singles in 2013 – the idea was to introduce the debut album as soon as possible. However, life got in the way: the vocalist Minna Ora’s breast cancer diagnosis ruined the plan.During Minna Ora’s cancer treatments, the band continued to record in her studio ‘BlackMoon’ and the recordings of the LP are her work. The pace got slower for a while butthanks to good treatment results, the album Hot City is finally completed and will be released on 15 May 2015.
The album will be released through the O.R.A Music record company because the band didn’t want to have its hands tied by having its debut album produced under the orders of big record companies. The freedom to make and produce their own kind of music is important to the band. The distributor of the album will be Running Moose Production in Finland and Ravenheart Musik in Uk. A few tracks on the album are borrowed from Hurriganes but the band also composed many songs. Now it’s time for the Rack Doll to look far into the future energetically and confidently. The album release gig takes place in Golden Classic, in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki on 16 May 2015.
