111MESSENGER is another band coming with the recommendations of Liz Hellman, the mother of Dave Lepard (CRASHDIET). The band plays Christian rock and sings for a higher power. The opening track “Turn To You” is kind of a popish tune that flows well but really it’s a basic tune that will not turn many heads. The guitar work by Fredrik Elm and Johnny Sandberg is fair but doesn’t push the levels.

Track two is a cover of Simon Ådahls “Be For Sverige” sung in Swedish and I’ll tell you even though I have no clue what MESSENGER is saying the song is excellent. Love the midsection of Johnny Sandberg (bass) and Simon Levén (drums). The music is uplifting and lead vocalist Josef Mineur shines.

I was kinda let down with the opening track on the disc but I am slowly turning the corner with track three “The Day” what a killer tune. It opens with some acoustic work and works its way into your heart. The song thrives during the chorus that elevates and when Josef Mineur raises an octave the song just explodes. Good guitar work and lyrically it has massive appeal.

“Eternal Life” is a fast-paced song that pushes towards anthem status. The screams and high notes of Mineur are amazing and the great guitar work of Elm and Eddie Widell push the levels,.

Ending the disc is a flashback to the Eighties sound with “Heart And Mind”. A pop tune that will sway fans of TRIXTER and many other eighties style bands to latch onto this one. Check these guys out there are good mixtures of sounds from MESSENGER on this EP.
