Tattooed Millionaires frontman Johnny Jetson returns with this snarly glammy hard rock gang THE JOHNNY JETSON BAND and the new album “Guilty Until Proven Not Innocent” featured in exclusive at plotn08. This is the actual professionally finished album – be aware there’s a pre-production version floating the net.

Johnny has been doing his own part to keep rock and roll alive with bands like Space Age Playboys and Tattooed Millionaires. With a name like Jetson, you just wanna believe that he slid back in time and zipped forward with leather, vinyl, and a whole pile of those ’80s rock magazines. It’s like that sports almanac in Back To The Future only in reverse, this time in the form of an album called ”Guilty Until Proven Not Innocent”, which is an unlucky 13 batch of down and dirty rock n’ roll tunes.

Musically, Jetson’s trick is to wrap his decadent, ’80s sleazy diatribes around pop-rock hooks so good you can’t escape ’em. Johnny Jetson plays some badass rock and roll guitar too. With a style loaded with raw Ace Frehley stagger and ’80s Sunset Strip riffage, he’s the real effing deal.
These songs are like pages of of a 1985 Circus magazine embedded with tunes that sound just as cool as he looks. Just give a listen if you don’t believe me. For starters, “Young Lust” kicks the door down in a way that’ll smack your Mötley Crüe / W.A.S.P. soul hard and leave you wanting more immediately. You have blistering guitar and pounding drums punctuated by Jetson‘s snarling vocals, and that’s just the first bit of sleazy tease.

Now word on the street is that Johnny started his East Coast struttin’ after finding a tossed out guitar in the trash early in life. Yeah, he may be a product of New York but on ”Guilty Until Proven Not Innocent”, Jetson is all Hollywood.
And the Hollywood signs are all there in songs like “In Love In Hollywood” and “Hollywood Movie Star.” The latter is a stomping screamer of an anthem and the former a nostalgic coming of age power ballad, both delivering the sounds of ’80s hair metal excess.

Sure, Johnny Jetson shoots out something akin to that old school scene but he’s no mere copycat. While the vibe is obvious and potent enough to turn on fans of Y&T, Rough Cutt, Cinderella, Ratt and more, on ”Guilty Until Proven Not Innocent” Jetson fires up a bit of rock and roll time travel while still offering up something new and fresh.

In Johnny‘s vocals, you can feel the grit of all the bands mentioned above but something in there is just a little bit looser in a cool way. Not to knock the elders, but Johnny Jetson is delivering something that most of those other guys haven’t in the long while and it all fits in good together. Not only that, it’s kicked out like he believes he’s already built a little bit of myth and legend. And he’s just getting started.
Turn on and turn up “In The Backseat” or “Hang You With A Noose of Gold” and tell me I’m lying. Some of you have been screaming for something new that wraps you up like your cassettes did back in the ’80s. Well, here it is man. If you need your head ripped off, “Pedal To The Metal” will do it at about 110 mph and “Heavy Metal Love” will help you grind your ass right off. Both are raw, nasty and snarl in their own way. Snarky little ass kickers they are.

Bottom line is Johnny Jetson‘s latest and greatest is an old school sleazy hard rock and roll release that works from start to finish with a fresh new shine from “Young Lust” to “Angels Travel On Lonely Roads” and everything in between.
Sure, it’s not the only kick-ass new release out there but it’s one of the few that you can listen to and actually go back in audio time while remaining in the here and now. ”Guilty Until Proven Not Innocent” is that hard rock and roll that you might have been jonesing for for a long time. It’s a new record deserving of squeezing in right next to all your old favorite ’80s rock and roll vinyl.

Give a listen and tell me if you wouldn’t pick “Hot Snow” or “Dirty Girls” over a lot of the songs your old favorite bands have released the last few years. ”Guilty Until Proven Not Innocent” ain’t perfect and it’ll never replace your fave ’80s hard rock record, but if you want something that’ll kick you in the balls just as hard, this might be the steel tipped cowboy boot for you.
So how about it? Order you a copy, Sunset Strip off the cellophane, and turn it up loud!
