Bad Reputation Records just reissued, first time on CD, THE ELEMENT 1985’s only album “Time“, an obscure AOR LP pretty sought after by collectors, originally only released in France.

THE ELEMENT’s “Time” also resulted of interest as being the first record famous guitarist Patrick Rondat played on. Also features Herman Frank (Victory, Accept) on guitar, keyboardist Stephan Kurten (Tangerine Dream), vocalist Ralph Towers aka Rapha Guerrido (ex- Warning), while Kai Hansen (Helloween) also played in the band but left before the album was recorded.

Born and formed in West Germany in the spring of 1984 by singer Rafael Garrido, THE ELEMENT, with the help of renowned Michael Wagener, experimented producing a first demo despite the various egos that tugged at it. After some line up changes, Herman Frank agreed to produce the band’s debut, and also recorded some guitar.
“Time” is pure mid-Eighties AOR, FM-rock music with cool melodies and catchy choruses, at places bordering Hi-Tech, at others Melodic Rock.
In 1985, THE ELEMENT signed a license with Rock Records / Polygram. Praised by the national and international press, it failed to secure adequate distribution despite numerous efforts. This resulted in a debacle that was somewhat attributed to the shortcomings of a poorly restructured showbiz industry lacking A&R resources due at the time.
