GRIM REAPER is one of the most loved ’80s UK metal bands. Since 2006 founder Steve Grimmett is fronting his own version of the band – Steve Grimmett’s GRIM REAPER – and they just have released “Reaping The Whirlwind“, their first official live album.
Recorded live at British Steel Festival, Fismes, France, October 6th, 2018, the two-disc release captures Steve Grimmett’s GRIM REAPER in their element; live & loud. This great set includes tracks spanning the band’s 40 year career and, of course, includes their hit track and metal anthem “See You In Hell”. But also the great cover of DIO’s classic ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers’ worth the admission alone.
Listening these classy ’80s metal tunes by Steve Grimmett’s GRIM REAPER 2022 is very cool. The vibe at this show is really refreshing, in front of a small audience that’s respectful.
Grimmett’s voice is as strong as ever despite some vocal troubles in the past, and the banter between songs are classic, showcasing his raw humor.
It’s a rowdy recording, really live, and as usual with GRIM REAPER , very loud.
