Zink Music is a new label/distribution company, stationed in Sweden, that's been active for no longer than a mere 6 months and this is their 6th offering.
Previous releases were the latest efforts of Daniel Andersson, Peter Friestedt, Robbie Dupree & CC-Rock.
If you know any of these names then you have gathered already that things run smoothly with our Swedish friends. Very slick & smooth, actually, as they obviously are specialized in pure Westcoast & the mellow side of melodic rock/AOR.
Which brings us right into the clean-cut alley of the Swedish duo Smooth Reunion as it hardly gets any smoother than what these superb musicians bring to the table.
On the second effort of these Swedes – the first one being 'Scandinavian Bus Mentality (2007) – we are presented with 10 slices of finely crafted, easy going jazz/pop tunes in the finest Steely Dan & co. tradition. What sets them a little apart from their contemporaries is the use of lyrics that contain the finer elements of irony, humor, sadness or just an observation of their everyday life and adequate thoughts.
If honey needed a soundtrack it would have been this record but watch out for the inevitable bee sting!
