Fronted by Niko Rimbacher, five-piece RIMBACHER is a new hard rock outfit coming from Finland, however all band members are already professional musicians, having recently opened for Michael Monroe‘s Demolition 23 on several gigs and performed at many Finnish festivals.
Their upcoming debut album “High Hopes On The Rocks” has a classic sound from the genre; ’80s stadium rock sized attitude, some AOR vibes, and straight forward hard rock and roll riffs. All over the 10 tracks we have catchy melodies, powerful vocal harmonies, and swirling clean guitar solos.
Opener “Worldkiller” shows RIMBACHER credentials: a high-octane, cascading number that brings the explosive feel of the Eighties U.S. melodic hard rock scene stylishly into this millennium. However, lyrically the song is a critique of the moulds of modern society and the power brokers who promote the destruction of the world.
The band doesn’t hide its influences – ’80s American hard rock / glam metal – nor does it keep its raucous guitar heroics under wraps. In addition to the two solo guitarists, Niko, a singer known as a multi-instrumentalist, has also decided to play guitar on a few songs.
Among the best cuts there’s ‘Chasing Ghosts‘, ‘Cocaine Eyes & Nicotine Stains‘, ‘Last Breath Of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘, and midtempo AORish ‘Loving You (Is Loving A Broken)‘, showcase the band’s recognizable but interesting diverse output.
After one listen you can assure all RIMBACHER members love classic ’80s hard rock with melody. The songs on “High Hopes On The Rocks” are catchy, polished, smooth at places, quite rocking at others.
