Pirate metal? Black metal? Looking a the cover art of “Enchantress“, the debut album from REBEL KINGS makes you think of that. Well, not at all… Formed by ‘mysterious’ members, REBEL KINGS explore genres such as Melodic Rock, AOR and a hint of Prog. Their first album ”Enchantress” is a collection of tracks ranging from ’80s Stadium Rock to midtempo atmospheric songs and power ballads.
Hailing from North West England, seems all REBEL KINGS members are veterans from the scene but somehow their identities will remain – at least for the moment – into the shadows.
And you can hear these are seasoned musicians as songwriting, arrangements and performances are first rate, and despite of being a self-managed production, mix & mastering sound quality is second to none. That’s why Nightmare Records agreed to release ”Enchantress”.
If you like ’80s flavored melodic / hard rock, with a little progressive touch (not in sound-style but in certain songwriting) REBEL KINGS’ music will please your ears.
