It's always a pleasure to introduce another Pennsylvania band to the larger international audience. Here's Pittsburgh's Order of Nine with their fifth albumSeventh Year of the Broken Mirror on Nightmare Records.
I had to laugh when I read the one-sheet which calls OoN's style thrash metal. There may be some moments of that, but SYOTBM falls largely into the melodic progressive power metal category. Yet Order of Nine's style is seems dark, at times even foreboding. And sometimes they remind me of brooding darker Queensryche, especially with Michael DeGrena's. Sometimes he sounds like Geoff Tate, only in a lower register. His voice has, at times, an inherent sadness, a melancholy to it. Unfortunately, sometimes it seemed too familiar, lacking variation.

The second fantastic album of Swedish band, whose leader is one of the most skilful of our keyboardists Richard Andersson. It will be a pleasant surprise for all fans of neo-classical and progressive heavy metal. The group consists of: Zoltan Csorsz (FLOWER KINGS), Apollo Papathanasio (ex-MAJESTIC) and Jonas Reingold (FLOWER KINGS, KARMAKANIC, MIDNIGHT SUN). Excellent release, full of beautiful melodies and memorable parties, a virtuoso performance. Strong vocals of one of the best vocalists in the style, the grand work of a composer and a stunning production! Praise be to lavish album for a long time, he really deserves them. For keys and headed by the composer of Richard Andersson - in fact, comments and other do not. Epic, interesting songs lined up, sometimes in a spirit of Symphony X, sometimes with noticeable influences from Dream Theater. The team has earned an excellent reputation, but with a new album has a good chance to get up in the ranks of the masters of Prog Metal style.

Open Your Mind is the bands first commercial release and the 10 track album is a melodically furious fusion of massive metal riff s and catchy as hell vocal s that is all held together beautifully by a tight as a vice groove driven rhythm section that make all the plaudits this band have received for their live show all the more justified. The first single to be taken from the album One More Road From Home proceeds the album on Monday October 25th and is a hugely anthemic slice of metal tinged alternative rock will appeal to fans of bands such as Stone Sour, Shinedown and Alter Bridge.
PATHFINDER were in the past two years, THE rising bands and their strong debut album "Beyond The Space Beyond The Time", they were able to establish itself very quickly throughout the scene. The album caught dozens of positive reviews and was considered by many to be THE power metal album 2011th Thus, there have been the Poles with their debut album made it very difficult, because the expectation is of course already extremely high and it has set a relatively high standard. PATHFINDER Now for something more than a year already back with their sequel to "Beyond The Space Beyond The Time." "Fifth Element" is the good part and mixed by Sascha Paeth distinguished himself, who might be out there some one term.
HEADSPACE began as an outlet for Adam Wakeman--the keyboardist for both OZZY OSBOURNEand BLACK SABBATH, and son of YES mastermind Rick Wakeman--and a close circle of his musician friends. There were no preconceptions of launching a progressive rock band, and certainly no visions of grandeur-- they just played music that they loved.
"We're quite open about our influences because that's the music that we love," the band comments."There's RUSH, YES, GENESIS, a lot of bands. We even give a tip of the hat to DREAM THEATER in a few sections. That's all a part of what we are."
