Martie Peters has a solid reputation as one of the best singers / songwriters from Scandinavia, having been the frontman for melodic rock acts Sateria, Push, Shades & Peters and his own MARTIE PETERS GROUP. Today Martie is releasing his new album “Turn Hate Into Fire” with the MPG, a wonderful collection of fresh melodious anthems that all fans of Push and the first two MPG albums will immediately recognize.
Peters has a high ranging vocal not unlike fellow Dane Mike Tramp in his White Lion days and his first solo era, which proves perfect for the AOR-tastic tunes finely crafted and produced included into “Turn Hate Into Fire”.
Regarding this musical genre, you have it all here: soaring choruses, crunching guitars, sweet keyboards, melodies & harmonies galore – the type of songs that would be all over the radio back in the day, and many, that once you have finished hearing you want to hit repeat straight away. Tracii Guns appears as guest with a cool guitar solo.
Martie Peters drops several influences here, however all sounds and feel unmistakably Scandinavian. Songs like the title track, ‘Don’t Give up a Fight’, ‘Out of the Blue (feat. Tracii Guns)’, ‘A Matter of the Soul’, or ‘Done with Lies’ are among the highlights, but all are very enjoyable, just with the right ‘melodic rock’ sense.
Konstantin Raidovski’s guitar playing adds bite to the keys and melodies, with some grandiose solos here and there.
Great to have Martie Peters Group back. “Turn Hate Into Fire” is a melodic (hard) rock delight, sure to please existing fans and win over a few new ones too.
