With its fresh, heavier take on old school hard rock, Manthraah originated in Kalmar on the southeastern coast of Sweden, formed by front man Anders Gunnarsson (vocals, guitar) and Robert Nilsson (guitar) in 2005. After a rough year with internal struggles the band was left without drummer and bassist resulting in a hiatus. Anders and Robert kept writing music while looking for new members.
In 2009 Fredrik Holgersson joined as the new drummer and the band started rehearsing again. After a few failed bassist auditions the band decided to start playing with a prerecorded bass track, and this is the way the band performed live since 2011.
At the start of 2012 the band started working on its first recording for 5 years, resulting in the 2013 EP release 'Lesson Learned'.
