Since 1996 there MAINPOINT from Rostock and have since been released three albums and two EPs. For greater awareness that has not taken care of, at least for me the band's name was until now unknown. With "Black Traveller" appears for the second time on an album Third Day Records, the label of the same German punks. With Punk MAINPOINT however, have less to care, they play music between gloomy gothic rock and Goth'n'Roll.
It stands out above all the voice of Axel K., he has a dark, warm and impressive voice and sounds like Moon Spells Fernando Ribeiro, sometimes as Alexander explosive ASP - which is of course perfectly fits gloomy rock and the band advantages bestowed . Musical clues are bands like Type O Negative, tthe SISTERS OF MERCY and THE 69 EYES, where MAINPOINT none of these bands to imitate obvious one has quite developed his own style. Includes the catchy songs that refuse to use or pathos largely kitsch and the cliffs of Poppigkeit you skillfully circumnavigating, we see times of a song like "Freedom" from which is probably quite deliberately kept the masses.
The repertoire ranges from brisk otherwise, Goth'n'Roll harder numbers like "Gold Rush" and "Exposed" on theatrical songs with film noir atmosphere ("Rescue Me"), to classic gothic rock hard numbers in the variants, afloat, worn and ballads.
