LaSalle, Illinois, USA rockers Lady Strange have released two EPs — Songs From The Gutter (January 19th) and Free Show For The Young & Drunk (August 17th) — in 2024. Lady Strange played their debut gig at the 9th St Pub in LaSalle, Illinois, USA back on September 1, 2023.
LADY STRANGE is an up-n-comin’ new act from La Salle, Illinois, and have been making some noise in the Chicago club circuit for three years now. Named after the Def Leppard song from 1981, LADY STRANGE are inspired by, indeed, ’80s rock n’ roll.
As many bands do now, this female-fronted quartet have released 2 EP’s this 2024 – now titled ”Songs From The Gutter”, and the other ”Free Show For The Young & Drunk”. This shorter format seems to work better for novel bands, and did it well as the band already have a Japanese fan base and they are quite popular in Europe, just being voted #1 Up-And-Coming Artist of 2024 by Scandinavian magazine Junkyard Rock Stories readers.
What surprises about LADY STRANGE is their members: the oldest is 25 year-old. Young dudes playing sleazy, sweaty Sunset Strip 1987 hard rock? Yeah, these lads are influenced by KISS, Guns n’ Roses, Faster Pussycat, New York Dolls, L.A. Guns, Cheap Trick, Mötley Crüe, and of course, all that Seventies / Eighties Euro classic rock giants.
On these 2 EP’s you’ll hear a raw, punchy set of rockers plenty of swagger, big guitars and a female singer with the right attitude.
