When was this album released / recorded ? Just curious if Black N Blues version that came out around 88’ was prior to the Kiss version or after. I know Gene produced a couple albums for them but I never knew Kiss did this song until now.

KISS – THE LOST ALBUM
These were just extra songs/demos that never made it any album. They released all these plus a bunch & bunch more on thier box set years ago, and they are remastered any true kiss fan will know this, and these songs here are not remastered. Check out the box set for tons of others
Sounds like the same thing that happened with the song Hellraiser back in the early 90’s. Both Ozzy and Motorhead recorded and released their own versions of the same song.
Bonfire released their version in 1989. Gene Simmons was managing bonfire at this time….Kiss recorded sword and stone in 1987 with Bruce Kulick.
Bruce Kulick was recently interviewed and asked if there was a KISS song he helped to write that didn’t make it on to an album and if so, which song and why didn’t it make the cut?
Kulick responded: “A song immediately comes to mind, and the ironic thing about is that it’s a song other people covered but KISS didn’t release. It’s called “Sword and Stone.”
Actually now that I look back I got it wrong. The first song “Sword and the Stone” is NOT a Kiss song at all. It was recorded by a band called Bonfire and yes it was still used on the soundtrack to the movie Shocker. The song “Shocker” is the song Paul Stanley recorded as the leader to a quickly formed solo band called The Dudes of Wrath.
Please make it separated songs…not all in one file like this
