Kerry Livgren is best known as one of the founding members of Kansas. He left Kansas in 1983 but has remained close to the band and continued to appear occasionally with Kansas on various tours since the 1990s. In 2000, the original and current members of Kansas reunited at Livgren's studio to record a new album written entirely by Livgren, titled Somewhere to Elsewhere. Since 2003 Kerry Livgren has worked in the band Proto-Kaw, which in fact is an early incarnation of Kansas reunited. He also has reissued a great part of his album releases partly re-reorded.
The title of this compilation is in fact not quite fair, as the album is compiled of re-recordings, remasters and 2 previously unreleased songs.
