In 2015, the President of the Republic of Hungary awarded Ferenc Szigeti with a high state award: he received the Knight Cross of the Order of Merit.

The award has been awarded for the 50 years of outstanding success, versatile musical, performer, social and producer career, as well as the consistent leadership of the KARTHAGO ensemble, which has been a success for many generations for over 36 years, with numerous national and international festival awards.
