"About seven bridges you have to go", "The Blue Planet", "Every hour" - who is not familiar with the big hits of KARAT? With these and many other songs they've firmly anchored in the annals of the history of German rock music in the front rows. Founded in 1975 in East Berlin, they landed quickly in the fast lane.
Meanwhile, more than 12 million records sold. KARAT are the only East German band that reaped before the fall of the wall in the western part of the country gold and at "Wetten dass ..." occurred. Helene Fischer, Chris de Burgh, Peter Maffay and Matthias Reim, but also scooters, Jan Josef Liefers and Max Raabe did cover KARAT songs. Now celebrating Bernd Romans (guitar), Michael Schwandt (dr), Christian Liebig (b), Martin Becker (keyb) and Claudius Dreilich (voc) the 40.Bandgeburtstag. The nicest gifts go there for the fans: On June 20 KARAT load the Great Jubilee concert with many surprise guests at the Berlin forest stage. And last but not least: KARAT have recorded a new album, their best since a long time.
