JUPITER SOCIETY is the new project fronted by Carl WESTHOLM, known from other Swedish acts like CARPTREE and KRUX. The epic concept-album "First Contact - Last Warning" (2008) deals about some important days in a distant future. Is this "First contact" or "Last Warning" ?... The music is somewhere between two worlds, Progressive rock and heavy-metal. Here we'll find the ambient but symphonic production known from CARPTREE, with a clear presence of heavier elements. Big arrangements, small details, different vocalists and musicians specially chosen for each song makes it varied and intriguing. The album has been recorded in collaboration with people like Leif EDLING (CANDLEMASS and KRUX) Mats LEVEN (KRUX, THERION, Yngwie MALMSTEEN...) and Declan BURKE (DARWINS RADIO and FROST) among many others. On the whole, the listener may recall AYREON or CARPTREE, but JUPITER SOCIETY remains a landmark of its own. Warmly recommended !
