Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and JOURNEY band member JONATHAN CAIN has just released “Christmas Is Love” from Identity Records with The Fuel Music distribution. Produced and written by Cain, “Christmas Is Love” is a holiday offering bearing this legendary musician’s signature.
Despite like his previous Christmas solo record where Cain performed some holiday classics, “Christmas Is Love” features all new songs penned by himself, and musically aren’t ‘Christmas sounding’ but full band songs with more AOR feeling than the last JOURNEY album.
These songs highlights the artist’s brilliant keyboard work along with his dynamic vocals that have been forged through six solo albums. What we really like about “Christmas Is Love” is the sonic approach, working as a full-band output and as said, the ’80s AOR that permeates the tracks.
Earlier this year, Cain released his acclaimed solo studio album “Arise”. Musically, “Christmas Is Love” is even better.
With Christmas around the corner, it’s nice to hear as well Cain’s aforementioned previous Season album: “Unsung Noel” is Jonathan Cain’s holiday release originally released 2017, presented at the time on selected venues as ‘A Christmas Journey’ 😉
The album features some of Jonathan’s most beloved songs celebrating the season of Jesus birth. Cain, who continues to tour the world with Journey, one of the most popular American rock bands of all time, crafts his music from the vantage of his personal faith-journey that started in Chicago when he was a kid.
His faith was challenged after he survived a horrific fire in third grade at his school, Our Lady of the Angels School, where 92 of his fellow students along with three nuns died that day.
Cain found healing and redemption in music, and his long ‘journey’ eventually led him back to the seminal faith of his youth.
Featuring original songs like the ”Unsung Noel” title track and “This Is The Heart Of Christmas,” the album also includes classics like “Angels We Have Heard On High,” “Oh Holy Night” and “Do You Hear What I Hear,” as well as Matt Redman’s “Light Of The World.”
