In our releases guitarist / vocalist Jared James Nichols their first album "Old Glory and The Wild Revival" produced by Eddie Kramer (Led Zeppelin, Triumph, Kiss, Ace Frehley).

As a musician who has played as a guest to LYNYRD SKYNYRD in the past, it’s possible to get an idea of the ballpark JARED JAMES NICHOLS plays in. But under no circumstances should you let that dictate your opinion on this music, as from “Old Glory and the Wild Revival” alone it is clear that the man is a fantastic musician in his own right, and if you come here looking for criticism then you won’t find much.

Right from the outset, “Playing for Keeps” shows off his style of music and incredible talent and control over it. The genre is described as Blues/Rock, which is immediately clear as the best parts of both are present. The feeling and soul of Blues is melded so seamlessly with the Rock ‘n’ Roll that it’s impossible not to admire each song as the sum of its parts; the structure and composition of nearly all of them is enough to make any music-lover gush. The first track changes tempo frequently, stops and starts in all the right places, and demonstrates a mastery over the instruments that persists throughout the album.
The variety of song style alone is worth mentioning, as while the first couple of tracks are reasonably categorised as Hard Rock, “Let You Go” is more of a love song akin to AEROSMITH, and “Can You Feel It” takes the shape of upbeat, funky Classic Rock. To put it simply no two songs are similar, and the vocal range possessed by Nichols certainly helps to hammer this home. His Blues roots have taught him a thing or two about putting energy into his voice so that the listener shares his emotion, but that skill isn’t limited to his voice. The enthusiasm is also recognisable in his unique way of playing the guitar, and one of the better songs to demonstrate this is “Now or Never”, which is entirely acoustic, once again adding variety into the album. It’s difficult to give this album justice in words alone, as it really is one of those ones that has to be heard to be appreciated fully. Any fan of Rock ‘n’ Roll in its many forms, Hard Blues, or even Hard Rock will enjoy this release for all it accomplishes and all it attempts. This is an example of how much experience in the music industry, and with instruments can really make a difference in the quality of the final product.
01. Playin' For Keeps (5:18)
