Guitar/bass player/composer Jan Zachariassen got his roots in The Faraoe Islands where he was born, but has lived in Malmoe, Sweden, since some years ago. With his new released CD titled "Shine" he delivers well produced great laidback slick jazz with a slice of westcoast-touch which sometimes makes You waving in dreams and that surely grooves and sometimes even with some kind of gospel touch.
Jan Zachariassen has worked with his CD "Shine" in some years, but now at last it's here! The CD has been mixed by the quite famous very often hired Danish producer (from The Faraoe Islands) Oli Poulsen (Michael Ruff, Hanne Boel, Michael Learns To Rock and many, many, many, more) and most of the music on the CD is instrumental with acoustic very soft well played guitar with some parts of soft playing electric guitar by Mr. Jan Zachariassen which makes You think on guitar playing artists and acts like for example Jonathan Butler, George Benson, Acoustic Alchemy and maybe even a hint of Larry Carlton. But there are also some vocals of some of the songs. Like in the theme song "Shine" for example with vocals by Regin Guttesen (who is the old friend of Jan Zachariassen from The Faraoe Islands who now have is living in Italy) - a brilliant vocalist that I just can't get enough of! Regin Guttesen also plays keyboards on some of the songs on the CD. The song "Shine" is very beautiful arranged and with very great arranged brass arangements and powerful gospel-like choir. "Do You Believe In Love" has even this great powerful gospel choir and great horns. "Mother's Heart" is a very beautiful smooth instrumental ballad which is a tribute from Jan Zachariassen to his parents with great saxophone played by Mark Douthit (who has played with artists like for example Michael McDonald, David Foster, Larry Carlton, Peter Cetera, Whitney Houston and the bigger part of christian famous artists plus many more). "You Were There" features vocals by the great female vocalist Linda Petersen. The song "Argir" is the instrumental beautiful tribute by Jan Zachariassen to the place of The Faraoe Islands where he was born. The CD features in all eleven great groovy smooth beautiful well arranged songs that really will make You feel good.
