Swedes GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year with a new album, their third. Meanwhile some of you requested the band’s 2 previous, and here’s the Demon Doll Records remastered reissue o 1989’s “Dynamite Sex Doze“.
This album is slammin’ from front to back. The boys bring a little more heat and lot more sleaze to the table and deliver a knock out punch. Veering away from their earlier punky influences, the BANKROBBERS get down and dirty bringing a little bit of bluesy hard rock and a whole lot of straight up melodic rock.
From he opening chords of “Crazy Sioux” to the radio ready feel of title track “Dynamite Sex Doze” (with a bit of Warrant to it) to the very good cover of Alice Cooper’s “I’m Eighteen”, the band is hitting on all cylinders. This is Swedish-made sleazy hard rock with a major shot of Hollywood big hair raunch and party-on roll dropped into the mix.
Other highlights include the guitar driven “Spitfire” with some Jetboy riffage and a Southgang touch thrown in for good measure, while ”Love To Come” and ”Good’n’bad” have some similar L.A. Guns attitude.
This release is digitally remastered highlighting the very good original production and repackaged in an eight page booklet with a full set of lyrics.
