The picture tells about the evolution, influence on culture and music from the side of thrash metal - an extreme form of heavy metal that literally burst onto the scene in the period from the early to mid-80s. Through face-to-face interviews with musicians from bands like METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX, as well as raw, original live footage,
film writer/director Rick Ernst (MTV, VH1) shows how and why most of these bands moved from performing in local clubs to powerful headlining concerts in arenas and stadiums. This movie takes you through the major milestones and personalities of extreme music, from the most famous thrash metal pioneers METALLICA to highlighting other genre-defining bands such as MEGADETH, SLAYER, EXODUS and many more.
