Gary Moon is a bassist who has played for several bands, including Night Ranger and Three Dog Night. He has also recorded as a solo artist. Before joining Night Ranger, he was in a band called The Pack with Steve Isham of Autograph. Matt Sorum, later of Guns ‘N Roses, The Cult and Velvet Revolver was also a member of the band. Curly Smith of Jo Jo Gunne and Boston and Pete Comita of Cheap Trick formed the rhythm section.

Moon’s solo album Still Moon consists of the original demos from the band “The Pack.” The band was close to signing with Atlantic Records numerous times in the late 80’s and 90’s. They recorded an album that was never finished, and the material remained unreleased until the tracks surfaced on Still Moon. Before releasing the album, Moon finished and remastered all of the tracks.

Tracks that stand out are “State Of The Heart” that sounds like a mix of Shout and Only Child,”Alayna” in the vein of old Whitesnake, not their glammy time, more into the Saints&Sinners/Slide It In type of songs,”Call Of The Wild” an excellent track with a very good catchy and chorus,”Queen Of The Damned” where Moon’s voice sounded like Steven Pearc especially in the chorus line and “Still” the opening track that is smooth and elegant..the rest of the songs are worth too and a must for fans of Jeff Paris and Night Ranger “Mojo”
