GANAFOUL were part of the Seventies French hard rock scene pretty influenced by the arena / stadium rock from the era. Inspired and formed during the explosion of the likes of Led Zeppelin, Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, etc, originally the band was composed of five members, but later became a trio: Jack Bon on vocals / guitars, Jean-Yves Astier on bass and Yves Rothacher on drums.
Bad Reputation Records has reissued / remastered GANAFOUL 1977’s debut LP “Saturday Night“, including as bonus the 1979 EP ”Route 77” recorded live, plus 2 extra tracks as bonus.
We already featured some time ago GANAFOUL’s second album also remastered by Bad Reputation, and were pleasantly surprised by this power-trio, with that late Seventies classic rock sound bluesy hard rocking, inspired by both the British and American sound.
With English lyrics, well produced and mixing hard rock, blues, some boogie, and riffs combining influences from Zeppelin, AC/DC or Status Quo, this is entertaining rock n’ roll for fans of ’70s classic stuff.
