Released by Bad Reputation Records, “Dangerous Times” is the new album from the French hard rockers GANAFOUL. Ganafoul (which means ‘like a madman’ in the local dialect) formed at the foot of the factory chimneys, is a product of – and even partly the origin of – the rich Givordine Rock scene of the ’70s, and remains to this day the finest French national heavy-blues jewel of all periods and regions.
Ganafoul’s music is part of many generations of rock n’ roll enthusiasts. Since the reissues of ’78 ‘Full Speed Ahead’ in 2022 and ’77 Saturday Night in 2023 , the band’s hypothetical return to the forefront was becoming more and more a reality, and the wishes of the most tenacious fans were finally going to be granted.
Ganafoul, still led by the lively Jack Bon on vocals & guitar, are back with a bang! Accompanied by Yves Rotacher on drums, Edouard Gonzalez on guitar and Luc Blackstone on bass, the quartet locked themselves away in Lyon’s Studio Magnéto in October to give birth to ‘Dangerous Times’: eleven feverish tracks, in the pure classic hard rock tradition.
Ganafoul showcases their many influences, including AC/DC, Status Quo, The Angels and ZZ Top, delivering a fun, entertaining collection of rock n’ roll.
