MelodicRock Records is giving to one of the best melodic hard rock albums of the 2000’s another run, releasing a brand-new version of the classic DOGFACE debut ‘Unleashed’. This time it’s called “ReLeashed“, because this is a turbo-charged record; remastered and remixed, including 2 bonus tracks.

Band founder, guitarist, writer and producer Martin Kronlund (Phenomena, Lover Under Cover) has gone back over the album and given it a fresh new mix from original masters, as well as adding some fresh parts and even a new twist or two.

Featuring the masterful Mats Leven (Treat, Yngwie) on vocals, who delivers one of his most powerful and menacing performances alongside Stefan Egeman on bass; Anders Skoog on keyboards and Patrik Engelbrektsson on drums.
Musically, “Releashed” is sensational. This is pure, classic European melodic hard rock with punch and melody, in the vein of Talisman / Jeff Scott Soto.
Mats Leven sounds at the top of his game here, Kronlund rocks with sharp riffs while the rhythm section is groovy.

Thin Lizzy legendary guitarist Brian Robertson guests with additional lead guitar on two of favorite tracks; the groovy ‘Don’t’, and the classic keyboard driven ‘I Don’t Care’
Other highlights included the excellent midtempo semi-ballad ‘I Will Be There’, and the dynamic ‘Spit It Out’. But overall, all songs on this album sounds are really strong.

And we’re not done there. “ReLeashed” also adds two exclusive bonus tracks: ‘A Little Ain’t Enough’ (originally recorded for a 3rd Dogface release), and ‘Pray For Me’ (from the debut recording sessions, reserved to be a Japanese bonus track).
These are real finds, being ‘A Little Ain’t Enough’, for me, the more melodic rock oriented song from Dogface with its catchy chorus. Then ‘Pray For Me’ showcases other side of the band with some heavy funk on it.

As far as the European melodic hard rock genre goes, Dogface’s debut album ranks up there among the best ever releases.
This new refreshed, remixed and remastered version ‘Releashed’ is even better that the original, more polished and fluid.
