Recorded in Summer 2022, SHERINIAN / PHILLIPS ”Live” captures the debut performance of one of the most formidable partnerships in the progressive metal / fusion world, keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Sons of Apollo) and legendary drummer Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who, Michael Schenker). The remarkable partnership are joined by Ric Fierabracci on 6-string bass and guitarsit Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (Sons Of Apollo, G n’ R).
The pair first worked together on Sherinian’s 2001 album ‘Inertia’ and have now collaborated on Sherinian’s last three solo releases, Oceana (2011), The Phoenix (2020) and last year’s The Vortex.
SHERINIAN / PHILLIPS Live finally sees the pair find the time to take their work to the live stage at a special concert recorded at The Grape in Ventura, California on August 29 last year.
These musicians are simply amazing here delivering some impressive – and emotional – pieces of pure music.
