D.F.M. was formed in the early ’90s by experienced musicians from the Hollywood underground hard rock scene, as example, drummer Todd Lane, who previously was a NEWHEVEN member and which ’80s lost recordings were featured at plotn08 in exclusive some weeks ago.
Now reissue label Metallic Blue Records is finally releasing for the first time D.F.M. 1993’s album “Streets Of Rage“, which songs were used as the soundtrack to the action movie “Showdown” (a karate-type film from the same director of the iconic ‘Besd Of Ther Best’).
The OST nor the album under the D.F.M. name was released back in the day, now it comes fully remastered and with 4 additional bonus tracks never heard before.
Sound quality is top notch, professionally recorded & mixed, while D.F.M. rocks with great musicianship in a pretty killer style like a cross between LYNCH MOB and SKID ROW.
The first 6 tracks on this CD release were used for the 1993 soundtrack for the movie “Showdown”, while of the remaining 4, one was used a year later for the movie “Double Dragon”, while the other 3 remained unreleased until now.
For decades these songs were impossible to find, with fans of the genre ripping the VHS to at least have some parts of ’em while playing into the movie.
All are a good slice of first half of the Nineties US hard rock, at the time, already some kind of an underground scene. Nice to have D.F.M. music now properly released.
